It looks like Hollywood has found their newest ‘it’ girl in Olivia Wilde. Olivia Wilde, our favorite cast member of House, was the number one pick of Maxim’s Top 100 (pushing Megan Fox to number 2). Wilde graces the June issue of GQ and also has a movie coming out – ‘Year One’. In ‘Year One’, Olivia Wilde plays a sophisticated, seductive princess of some Ancient Roman-esque empire who is toying with Jack Black’s barbarian heart. You might say that Wilde has been training for this role since age 18, when she eloped with-an actual Italian prince. (Wilde’s a real-life princess now.) “Yeah, it’s all been research,” she laughs when asked whether she got hitched in preparation. Playing an angelic royal is a big comedic break for the 25-year-old actress-best known for her brooding bi-curious performances on The OC and House. In June’s issue of GQ – Wilde dishes about the on-set culture of Year One. “There’s not much to do in Shreveport [Louisiana, where the film was made] except hit the drive-through daiquiri stand,” she says. “So the producers gave us video cameras. David Cross made a film about whether he could make it through a day without walking-because there was no pedestrian activity in Shreveport. He went to Wal-Mart and took a cab from the car to the entrance.” Wilde, meanwhile, spent much of her time in Louisiana canvassing for the Obama campaign. She’s a public advocate for increasing international aid and for gay rights, and she’s raised money for Doctors Without Borders. What do you think of Olivia Wilde – the newest ‘IT’ Girl?? Olivia’s in the June issue of GQ magazine. I’ll have scans up ASAP. |
